Explore the vibrant, culturally rich city of Kathmandu on this half-day sightseeing tour by private vehicle. Skip the hassle of public transportation and taxi haggling — from hotel pickup to drop-off, everything is arranged for you.
Your expert English-speaking guide will lead you through four of Kathmandu's most iconic landmarks, revealing the religious traditions, ancient history, and living culture that make this city truly unique.
Explore Patan Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Pashupatinath Temple with a private guide, uncovering Kathmandu Valley’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage.
Patan Durbar Square sits at the heart of Lalitpur, one of the three royal Durbar Squares in the Kathmandu Valley — all UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Admire the stunning Newari architecture and explore the ancient royal palace where the Malla Kings of Lalitpur once resided.
The square is a living testament to centuries of art, craftsmanship, and Newar culture, filled with intricately carved temples, courtyards, and stone sculptures.
Perched atop a hill overlooking the entire Kathmandu Valley, Swayambhunath is one of the oldest Buddhist stupas in the world — approximately 2,600 years old. Its name translates to 'self-existent god'. Known affectionately as the Monkey Temple for the hundreds of resident monkeys, it features the iconic all-seeing eyes of the Buddha painted on each side of the stupa.
Enjoy a panoramic bird's-eye view of the entire valley from this, the highest vantage point inside it. Highlights include the main stupa, ancient sculptures, monk memorials, the Temple of the Child-Protector Goddess, and surrounding monasteries.
One of the largest stupas in the world, Boudhanath was constructed in the 4th century and is the spiritual heart of Nepal's Tibetan Buddhist community. The surrounding locale resembles a Tibetan village, complete with Tibetan monasteries and a thriving exile community.
Browse painting schools where Lamas create Thanka paintings — among the finest souvenirs Nepal has to offer. The all-seeing eyes of the Buddha atop the stupa are an iconic and deeply moving sight.
One of the most sacred Hindu temples in the subcontinent, Pashupatinath — meaning 'God of Animal Lives' — draws millions of pilgrims and visitors every year. Situated on the banks of the sacred Bagmati River (a tributary of the Ganges), this is a place of profound spiritual energy.
Witness open-air cremation ceremonies conducted with full traditional Hindu rites and rituals. You may also encounter Sadhus — holy men with painted faces, dreadlocked hair, and ash-covered bodies — who often welcome photographs.
After visiting all four sites, your private vehicle will transfer you comfortably back to your hotel. The tour wraps up by early afternoon, leaving the rest of your day free for additional activities.
