Your professional guide will meet you in Kathmandu at 10:00 AM for departure. Board your comfortable air-conditioned vehicle for a scenic one-hour drive out of the city, ascending through the foothills to Changunarayan Hill — a refreshing transition from the urban bustle to the tranquil countryside above the valley.
Arrive at Changunarayan, one of the oldest temples in Nepal, dating to the 4th century. This remarkable Vishnu temple is a living archive of Nepali history, its stones carved with intricate figures and inscriptions spanning over 1,600 years.
Explore the surrounding ancient village, where local artisans work in traditional woodcarving workshops and old-style houses line the hilltop lanes. From the temple's vantage point, take in sweeping views of lush green terraces and rolling forested hills stretching across the valley below.
Enjoy a well-earned break at one of the charming local restaurants near the temple. Taste authentic Nepali flavours and recharge with a hearty meal before setting off on the trail.
Note: lunch costs are not included in the tour price.
The heart of the day — a gentle and scenic 3-hour hike along the Telkot Nagarkot Road trail. Your route winds through beautiful countryside villages, dense forest, and open terraced farmland, offering a genuine window into typical mountain village life.
Along the way, look out for the stunning Blue Magpie — one of Nepal's most striking birds — and listen for the sounds of the forest. Pause at a roadside tea stall to rest your legs and soak in a sweeping panoramic view of the Kathmandu Valley spread out below, offering a memorable moment of adventure above the ravine.
On clear days, the hike rewards you with exceptional views of the Himalayan range — a backdrop that makes every step worthwhile.
After reaching Telkot, your private vehicle will be waiting to transfer you comfortably back to Kathmandu. Relax and reflect on the day's adventure as the city skyline reappears on the horizon. Estimated arrival back in Kathmandu: 5:00 PM.
