The second climbing phase focuses on Island Peak (6,189m), where you'll apply your mountaineering skills on a more technical ascent. Throughout the journey, experienced guides ensure safety while comfortable teahouses provide warm hospitality.

The trip concludes with a return through Tengboche's famous monastery and time to explore Kathmandu's cultural treasures.

With built-in acclimatization days and a contingency buffer, this itinerary prioritizes safety while maximizing your Himalayan experience. Whether you're new to mountaineering or looking to expand your high-altitude skills, this journey offers the perfect introduction to Nepal's legendary peaks.

Welcome to Nepal! When you land at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, our team will greet you and escort you to your hotel. After you’ve had some time to rest and freshen up, we’ll go over the details of your trek, which begins the following day.

We’ll walk you through all the important documents and gear you’ll need for the journey. The rest of the day is yours, so feel free to explore the city or simply relax at your hotel. We’ll wrap up the evening with a delicious Nepali dinner.

Today is fully dedicated to final preparations for your upcoming climbs of Lobuche East (6,119m) and Island Peak (6,189m). After breakfast, you'll begin the day with a thorough gear check alongside your climbing guide.

Each climber’s personal equipment, such as climbing boots, crampons, harness, helmet, ice axe, ascenders, and carabiners. They will be inspected to ensure everything meets safety and technical standards. If any items are missing or unsuitable, there will be time to rent or purchase gear from local stores.

In the afternoon, your guide will lead a climbing skills refresher session and technical briefing. You'll review essential mountaineering techniques including rope handling, use of fixed lines, proper use of jumar and descender devices, and glacier safety.

This is also the time to discuss the route plans, summit strategies, and weather considerations for both Lobuche and Island Peak.

Your guide will also conduct a safety and health briefing, explaining symptoms and management of altitude sickness, emergency evacuation protocols, and team responsibilities. We insist you focus on hydration, nutrition and pacing throughout the trip.

Finally, you can reorganize your backpacks: separating items needed for trekking, base camp, and summit pushes. Early evening is reserved for rest, mental preparation, and a final review of gear and logistics.

Your trip begins early next morning with a 45-minute flight to Lukla. On flight you will get your first breathtaking views of the Himalayas from above. You get to Lukla's small mountain airstrip soon.

Considering the weather and flight conditions, we could alternatively fly from Kathmandu to Ramechaap instead of Lukla.

After some tea and snacks, during which you can take a closer look at the tower peaks surrounding you, we begin our four-hour (approx.) trek down to Phakding

This first walk will help you adjust to trekking in the mountains. You'll pass through small settlements and enjoy the fresh mountain air as we make our way to the charming village by the river.

At Phakding, you'll settle into a comfortable lodge to relax and prepare for the days ahead.

After a good breakfast, we'll continue our journey toward Namche Bazaar, the heart of the Khumbu region. This will take about seven hours and you will walk through charming villages and lush forests, with plenty of time to enjoy the mountain scenery.

A highlight of the day's trek is crossing the iconic Hillary Suspension Bridge over the Dudh Koshi River. The gradual climb brings us to Namche, where you'll be welcomed by the lively atmosphere of this famous trading town.

We'll spend the night at Namche, where you can relax and soak in your first proper views of the high Himalayas.

Today is an important day to rest and let your body adjust to the altitude. After breakfast, we'll take a hike up to the Hotel Everest View, where you'll be rewarded with a panorama of the Himalayan peaks, including Mount Everest.

The walk is short but rewarding, giving you just enough activity to help with acclimatization while enjoying spectacular views. Along the way, we may stop at the Visitors Park to learn more about the region's unique ecosystem.

We will also hike to the Syanboche Airport (one of the highest airport in Nepal).

You'll have the afternoon free to explore Namche Bazaar at your own pace, perhaps visit the local market, try some local food and buy souvenirs or simply relax at the comfortable lodge.

Starting after breakfast, you will trek for nearly seven hours through beautiful trails to reach the village of Dole for the night. Early on, you will have views of Ama Dablam and Thamserku as you pass through villages and rhododendron forests. Later in the day you will have inspiring views of Khumbila and Tawache, too.

As for the trail for today, it snakes from Namche Bazaar  with panoramic views of Dudhkoshi river and mountains like Thamserku, Cho Oyu, and Kangtega. To add to the excitement, you might possibly be surprised by a couple of sightings of native wildlife like high-altitude pheasants and even the elusive Himalayan bear. Further up the trail you will cross forests and suspension bridges before arriving at Dole for the night.

The day’s trek, although not too long (approx. 3 to 5 hours), it is a steeper unhill climb which takes us to the peaceful village of Machhermo, nestled in a beautiful valley surrounded by towering peaks.

As the trail climbs, it gives us plenty of time to enjoy the magnificent mountain views along the way. We'll pass through alpine meadows and cross small streams, with the fresh mountain air accompanying us throughout the journey.

Machhermo welcomes us charmingly, and we'll spend the night in a cozy lodge, resting for tomorrow's adventure.

Machhermo is notable for its glacial river and the site of a famous 1974 yeti encounter. The village offers the first clear views of Cho Oyu's massive west face.

After breakfast, we will trek towards the Gokyo Lakes, a series of six glacial lakes located in the Gokyo Valley, which are among the world's highest freshwater systems. The lakes are known for their stunning turquoise color and offer breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.

Formed by glacial meltwater from the Ngozumpa Glacier, the largest glacier in Nepal, the lakes are known for their striking turquoise and emerald colors, which vary with seasons and light conditions.

Designated as both a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a Ramsar wetland, the Gokyo Lakes are recognized for their ecological importance.

The day is your chance to rest and let your body adjust to the altitude while enjoying the beauty of Gokyo Valley. At 4,790 meters, Gokyo is a peaceful place surrounded by stunning turquoise lakes and towering snow-capped peaks.

After a relaxed breakfast, you can explore the area at your own pace. The main lake, Dudh Pokhari, is a short walk away, and there are other smaller glacial lakes nearby.

If you feel like stretching your legs, optional short hikes are available, offering great photo opportunities and helping with acclimatization.

You can also visit the ridge above the village for panoramic views of Cho Oyu, the Ngozumpa Glacier, and the surrounding mountains.

Take time to soak in the quiet beauty of this high-altitude retreat. You’ll spend the night in a cozy tea house in Gokyo.

We will wake up early and hike up to Gokyo Ri (5,357m), one of the best viewpoints in the Everest region, for sunrise views. The climb is rewarding, with increasingly spectacular panoramic views with every step.

From the summit, you'll be treated to an unforgettable vista of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and the entire Gokyo Lakes system below.

After taking in these magnificent sights, we'll descend back to Gokyo where you can relax and reflect on today's achievements in the comfort of our lodge. The remainder of the day is yours to rest and enjoy the serene mountain surroundings.

After descending to Gokyo, we will continue our trek to Thangna, a small settlement located at the foot of Cho La Pass.

Today's trek takes you from Thagnak (4,700m) to the peaceful village of Dzongla. The trail winds through beautiful alpine landscapes, with views of Cho La Pass and peaks like Chola Tse, Taboche, and Ama Dablam along the way.

The path gradually climbs over rocky slopes and glacial moraines, with some narrow sections requiring steady footing. You'll pass small streams, yak grazing areas, and quiet mountain scenery as you walk. The trek takes about 4-5 hours at a comfortable pace.

Dzongla (4,830m) is a small, scenic village set beneath the impressive west face of Chola Tse. Here, you can relax, enjoy warm meals, and take in the mountain views before continuing your journey. You'll spend the night in a cozy tea house, resting up for the days ahead.

This is a quieter, less-traveled route, giving you a chance to appreciate the peaceful beauty of the Himalayas. We stay overnight here.

We’ll start our climb toward Lobuche Peak High Camp, following a steep and rocky trail. Along the way, we’ll pass by beautiful glacial lakes, adding to the unique Himalayan scenery.

This part of the trek is demanding but offers a true adventure for those ready to take on the challenge. Once we reach High Camp, we’ll prepare for the next day’s summit attempt.

Be careful to not loose your footing on the trail as boulders and moraines are just a step away. Abundant rest and staying hydrated will help you loads. Then, we set up camp for the night, and you sleep with amazing close-up views of surrounding peaks.

This is the most demanding day of the trek as we aim for the summit of Lobuche Peak. The climb is steep and requires focus, but the effort is worth it, the views from the top are breathtaking.

After celebrating our achievement, we’ll carefully descend to Base Camp or High Camp, then continue to Lobuche village, where we’ll spend the night near the foot of Everest.

Things to do at Lobuche:

  • Visit the Italian Pyramid Laboratory-Observatory, a high-altitude research station studying climate and glaciers.
  • Stop by the World’s Highest Bakery Café for fresh bread, pastries, and hot drinks at 4,940 meters.
  • Capture stunning astrophotography shots of the Milky Way in the clear, high-altitude night skies.
  • Pay respects at the moving memorials dedicated to climbers who lost their lives on Everest.

This day brings one of the most rewarding moments of your trek as we walk to Everest Base Camp. The trail follows the Khumbu Glacier, with breathtaking mountain views accompanying us all the way.

We get to the village of Gorakshep first. We will reach there late morning and rest for a bit. Then, we continue to Everest Base Camp.

When we reach Base Camp, you can take in the incredible surroundings and celebrate this achievement and everything you did to get up here: the grit, passion and sheer will that got you here.

After this memorable experience, we'll return to Gorak Shep for a well-earned rest, carrying with us the pride of having reached this legendary destination.

We begin early to hike up Kala Patthar in time for sunrise. As morning breaks, the first sunlight touches Mount Everest's peak and gradually reveals the surrounding mountains.

You'll see the Khumbu Glacier and nearby peaks like Nuptse and Lhotse become visible in the growing light. Prayer flags flutter in the breeze as the valley slowly brightens around you.

Then we move down to Dingboche, which sits in a beautiful high valley where farmers grow barley and potatoes, you'll notice the landscape becoming more rugged as we gain altitude.

Our comfortable lodge here provides a warm welcome after the day’s walk.

Things to do at Dingboche:

  • Visit the peaceful Dingboche Monastery to see morning prayers and thangka paintings.
  • Catch spectacular sunrise views of Ama Dablam from the eastern ridge.
  • Take an easy 1-2 hour walk along the Imja River to see mani stones and glacial waters.
  • Learn about the unique ‘Ding’ ritual where villagers temporarily relocate each July-August.
  • Hike to Nangkartshang Peak (5,083m) for 360° views of Everest, Lhotse and Makalu.
  • Observe traditional high-altitude farming of potatoes and barley on terraced fields.

Day 16 brings another exciting part of your adventure! You’ll trek up to Island Peak Base Camp at 5,200 meters, where your climbing guide will give you tips on ice climbing techniques.

This important session will prepare you for tomorrow's summit attempt. You'll spend the night in our comfortable tented camp, resting up for the big day ahead.

Here, guides will also help you practice with climbing gear before we prepare for the ascent to Island Peak.

Rise early for your summit day! With headlamps lighting the way, you'll begin your climb to Island Peak's summit at 6,189 meters.

While challenging, your preparation and our guides' support will help you reach the top, where you'll be rewarded with incredible Himalayan views.

After celebrating your achievement, you'll descend safely to Chukung where a warm guesthouse and well-earned rest await.

Today is a spare day built into our itinerary for your safety and comfort. High-altitude weather can change quickly, and this extra day gives us flexibility in case we need to adjust our schedule due to weather, health, or other unexpected circumstances. You'll have time to rest and acclimatize in Chhukung while we assess conditions.

If everything has gone smoothly so far, we'll use this day to continue with our planned itinerary. Otherwise, it will be a buffer to ensure we can complete the trek safely without rushing.

Today's journey takes you downhill from Chhukung through some of the most beautiful landscapes in the Khumbu region. You retrace your steps past Dingboche and Pangboche.

The trail follows the Imja Khola river, passing through traditional Sherpa villages where you'll see ancient stone walls, colorful prayer flags, and intricately carved mani stones. The majestic Ama Dablam stands tall above the valley and you get a long view of it.

Your destination is Tengboche, home to the region's most important monastery, Tengboche Monastery. You see breathtaking views of Everest, Nuptse, and Lhotse on the way.

The monastery itself offers a peaceful retreat where you can reflect on your journey so far. This comfortable 5-6 hour walk brings you to lower altitudes where you can enjoy the thicker air and warmer temperatures.

Attractions at Tengboche:

  • Attend prayer ceremonies at the iconic Tengboche Monastery for a peaceful spiritual experience.
  • Witness the Mani Rimdu festival in autumn with vibrant masked dances and Buddhist rituals.
  • Enjoy breathtaking views of Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Thamserku from the monastery ridge.
  • Walk the Sacred Sites Trail connecting Tengboche with other ancient monasteries in the Khumbu region.
  • Spin prayer wheels and explore mani stones, chortens, and fluttering prayer flags around the village.
  • Trek through rhododendron and pine forests filled with fresh mountain air and natural beauty.
  • Join yoga or meditation sessions near the monastery in a tranquil Himalayan setting.
  • Stay in cozy teahouses with stunning mountain views and warm Sherpa hospitality.
  • Visit the nearby Debuche nunnery to learn about Buddhist nun traditions in the Everest region.

On this day, we begin our return journey, trekking back through the beautiful Khumbu Valley to Namche Bazaar. As we descend, you'll notice how much stronger you've become since first passing this way.

The familiar trails now feel more comfortable, allowing you to fully appreciate the charming villages and mountain views along the route. Our comfortable stay at in Namche welcomes you back to this bustling Sherpa town.

After breakfast, we complete our trekking circuit with the final descent to Lukla. Walking through lush forests and crossing familiar bridges, you'll have time to reflect on your incredible journey.

The trail gradually leads us back to where our adventure began, arriving in Lukla where we'll spend our last night.

We'll take an early morning flight from Lukla, offering you one last breathtaking view of the Himalayas from above. Again, depending on the weather and flight logistics, we either go to Ramechhap and then to Kathmandu, or to Kathmandu directly by air.

After landing in Kathmandu, we will take you to your comfortable hotel room in the capital city of Nepal. The rest of the day is yours to relax, enjoy the city's vibrant atmosphere, or perhaps do some shopping for souvenirs.

Today we'll show you the capital of Nepal with visits to Kathmandu's most sacred sites. You'll explore the peaceful Boudhanath Stupa with its colorful prayer flags, see the holy Pashupatinath Temple along the Bagmati River, visit the ancient Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple) with its panoramic views, and walk through the historic Kathmandu Durbar Square.

This is your perfect opportunity to pick up some special souvenirs before heading home, perhaps some local handicrafts or prayer flags to remember your journey.

Things to do in Kathmandu:

  • Visit Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple), where you can climb the steps to enjoy panoramic views of Kathmandu and observe the playful monkeys that live around the ancient stupa.
  • Explore Pashupatinath Temple, one of Nepal's most sacred Hindu sites, where you can witness traditional rituals along the banks of the Bagmati River.
