Laxu Sapkota

Laxu Sapkota views travel as his lifelong calling. Born and raised in the heritage-rich Kathmandu Valley, his earliest memories are tied to the breathtaking sights of white mountain peaks in the north and the colorful hot-air balloons that once adorned the city’s skies. Those moments ignited a wanderlust that eventually shaped his career.

With over six years in the tourism industry, he has experience and adaptability. His journey into tourism wasn’t a conventional one. Starting in the non-profit sector, he worked in project management, media, fundraising and operations before making the shift. However, he was always drawn to the road, seeking out new places, people and perspectives.

He transition to tourism in 2019 when he decided to turn his passion for travel and photography into a profession. The shift wasn’t easy, especially with the challenges that followed during the pandemic, but his experience in strategic planning and management helped him navigate the complexities of the industry. Now, as General Manager at Trek Me Nepal, Laxu plays a key role in crafting immersive travel experiences, ensuring smooth operations and promoting sustainable tourism practices.

Beyond office work, he enjoys documenting Nepal’s landscapes through photography and film as well as capturing the beauty of the places Trek Me Nepal introduces to travelers. His goal? To create journeys that inspire, connect and leave travelers with memories that last a lifetime.
